Oxfam: 20 years in Vietnam

Nghe An is the largest province of Vietnam, in terms of surface area (16,487 km2) and also population (3,2 million). It is very diverse in natural resources, in ethnic make-up and in terms of socio-economic development. The province is also one of the 9 poorest provinces in Vietnam.

Based in Tương Dương, I traveled with the NGO Oxfam Hong Kong to meet the local people and discuss the projects. We visited a Resettlement Project in Thanh Chuong, a Cow Raising Project in Huoi Cut village, a Clean Water Supply Project in Canh Toong village, a Food Security Project in Nga My commune and visited Phay village’s school.

The story and photos have been featured on the BBC website and published in a new Oxfam book.
